Hello! I just moved to Denver for work and am looking to establish local families for occasional babysitting gigs. I had multiple long-term families in Atlanta (who I still keep in contact with and send birthday gifts <3) and have worked as a part-time nanny for three years in college and then as a full-time nanny for a year after graduating. I have advanced trauma medical training, am a trained birth doula, and infant choking/seizure trained. I have experience with newborns (age 3 days old is my youngest that I nannied until she was walking!), twins (including twin newborns), and children with special needs. I have also done overnight nannying, such as watching children for an entire weekend while parents take trips or taking the "night shift" with a newborn so new parents can get their much-needed rest! My babysitting/nannying philosophy is that children deserve the same respect of adults. Read more They need compassion to navigate tough feelings, not punishment. My exact "parenting" style that I apply to all kiddos I care for is known as gentle parenting. I love creating fun craft activities and have lots of experience nannying children in "screen-free" homes. As a former English major, I love reading with the kiddos (and using my best character voices!). I also love getting active with the kids I nanny and would love to take them to the park or backyard to get their wiggles out (I have a clean driving record and am trained in installing car seats)! As a final but important note, I will not work in a home that requires me to use any type of physical punishment (including spanking), I am strongly against any type of violence especially towards children.
