I have always enjoyed working with children which led me to become an Elementary Education major at CU Boulder in order to be a teacher! After being born and raised in the Philippines, I moved to Colorado and have lived in the area for almost seventeen years. Coming from a diverse cultural and linguistic background (fluent in two languages, proficient in two others), I find how incredibly important it is to help foster the same identities in all children, regardless of their background; Children begin to form their identities from a young age and I find how crucial it is for me to always try my best to find common ground with everyone I work with. Creating a nurturing, relatable, and trusting relationship with children is a top priority, but establishing that same relationship with families and caregivers follow closely behind. Establishing a mutual trust with family members is just Read more as important to me in order to maintain a healthy, communicable, and engaging relationship. ______________ Given that I am currently student teaching, I will be available to work full-time starting May 9, 2022, until the end of the summer (end of July/beginning of August), or until I have landed a full-time teaching position. I am available to work now but we will need to communicate with each other to see if we can create a good schedule for both of us.
