Hi there, I'm Lain! I am going into my second year of graduate school working toward a Master of Social Work degree at MSU Denver. With professional experience in formal classroom education, homeschooling, tutoring, nannying, babysitting, mentoring, and leadership roles, I have over 10 years of experience in childcare and youth development. I have enjoyed working with children of all ages in personal and educational settings. I especially love working with disabled or neurodivergent children! I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy as well as a Bachelor in Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. My partner and I moved to Denver after our respective services as Peace Corps volunteers were ultimately canceled due to COVID-19. I am currently learning Spanish with the goal of gaining fluency. However, my love for learning and experiences working as a disability advocate and activist have lead me to the place I am so grateful to be. My goal is to become a LCSW and work as a medical social worker or adolescent therapist. I have a very flexible schedule this summer, and am available for any sort of childcare, mentoring, or educational roles. I am open to children of all ages.
