My name is Elizabeth, or EJ. I am 29 and grew up in Colorado Springs as the fourth of eight children. From 2013-2015 I worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at the Sunshine House Early Learning Academy in Fort Collins, Colorado. There I had the opportunity to grow as a teacher, create partnerships with the families and to be an active part of the CSU community. After two years working as a member of an awesome teaching team, I moved to Berlin to become an Au Pair for a German family in Berlin. Throughout my year as an Au Pair, I got to be an honorary member of a family, learned a new language/culture and gained some incredible insights into the inner workings of family life. From 2016-2020 I continued to work in Berlin as a freelance English teacher in multiple Elementary Schools and Kindergartens all around the city, teaching 15-19 Read more classes per week to kids ages 2-12. Through this experience, I was also given the opportunity to participate in the training of new teachers. Additionally, I developed my own workshop: “Classroom Management: Building a Positive Classroom” which I have the opportunity to present with the company workshop “Working with the Lesson Plans”, twice a year. From May 2019-July 2020 in addition to my role as a teacher, I was in the position of “Head of Education” at a language school where I previously taught. I consider this to have been one of the most challenging yet rewarding positions I had in the teaching world thus far.
