I love children and I especially am passionate about connecting kids to physical movement and the natural world. I have a knack for working well with children and have actively pursued opportunities to be in positions that would allow me to enrich children's lives and expand their curiosity about their worlds and creativity for over a decade. See below for a summary of my experience chronologically: -- Babysitter for children of all ages from infancy onwards since age 15 ( 2003 onwards) -- Adventure Camp Coordinator and Lead Instructor for The Mountaineers in Seattle, WA: Summer 2022. This summer I led 10 weeks of outdoor adventure trips for kids ages 9-15 across Washington state. I was responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all kids for 1-5 days at a time. -- Wilderness Therapy Field Guide for Open Sky Wilderness Therapy in Durango, CO: May 2021-2022. I spent the past Read more year working in the mental health industry supporting adolescents in crisis at a residential clinical treatment program. The job required me to live with groups of 3-12 adolsencents facing serious behavioral issues in a backcountry wilderness setting for 8-15 days at a time, being responsible as their acting legal guardian for their wellbeing at all times. I also taught daily yoga and mindfulness classes! -- Summer Camp Counselor and Overnight Wilderness Trip Leader, Green Meadow Waldorf School's Nature Place Day Camp, Summer 2014. -- Nanny in Manhattan, New York City for three different private families. I worked as a full-time and part-time nanny from 2012-2015 and have references available upon request. The kiddos I supported ranged in age from 3-12 and half of them had special needs and/or developmental disabilities. -- Live-in mother's helper and babysitter for a 7yo girl with Down Syndrome in Burlington, VT in 2012.. --Backcountry trip leader at a YMCA summer camp in Maine for co-ed teenagers (Camp Jordan).
