Though I live in Aurora, I am currently a 3rd year at the University of Oregon double-majoring in Communications Disorders & Sciences and Spanish - with aspirations to become a bilingual, school-age, speech pathologist. My passion for children started in high school as I had the opportunity to care for elementary aged, twin boys who have autism. As I was able to be their long-term babysitter for a year and half, I was able to grow my skills in creativity, patience, and really where my interest in caring for children came from. As I went of to college, I was fortunate enough to land a job in a children's care facility run by the University of Oregon as a teacher's aide in a preschool classroom (ages 2.5-5). While working at this job I was also able to become a afterschool tutor for a local middle school where half of the Read more time was homework help and the other half revolved around art, group projects, and physical activities. Though due to COVID-19 and the shut down of schools, I had to find another job - which led me to find a nanny position in Oregon from June-January. This was a nanny-share position, where I was able to provide for two families who had elementary-aged boys. Throughout the entirety of this job I was able to help the boys get outside and active in a safe way, aide in their online schooling, grow their Spanish skills as they were in a Spanish immersion elementary school, and be a kind friend to them. Though I have a vast amount of experience, I understand every child and family has different needs, so with that I look forward to hearing how I can aide your family at this time!
