My name is Ellen and I am a 29 year old Sonoma Native that loves to: dance, bake, travel and make new friends. I am currently working as a Teaching and Behavior Assistant in a Special Education classroom at a Middle School in Sonoma. I am finishing up my second school year and I absolutely love my job since helping children ovecome challenges, and helping a person learn functional life skills and the activities of daily life is incredibly rewarding. I work specifically with students that have a pre-K mentality and maladaptive behaviors. Aside from teaching functional life skills, I help facilitate community integration and inclusion, self-regulation and self-help skills, as well as verbal and augmented communication. I have also worked with children and teenagers in a general education setting that need emotional and behavioral support. I am passionate about all children. I started working in childcare was 10 years Read more old. Since then I have been consistently babysitting, and have been a professional Respite Care Worker with special needs children in their homes providing personal and protective care, as well as working to support the families in understanding their child and his or her needs. I graduated from the Emergency Medical Services Acadamy at Napa Valley College in 2012 and passed National Registry in 2012 as well. I am flexible with my availability and pay. I provide a structured and supportive environment for any child and their needs, and can work with several children at once. I also have strong references. Looking forward to hearing from you and your family!

Ellen was a great sitter who helped us while we were visiting from Spain for a wedding weekend. We first communicated by email and then phone and she asked thoughtful questions and provided honest feedback. We appreciated her education background and experience with children when picking her profile and both proved to be helpful as she watched our slightly jetlagged children. They had a ball, went to bed as requested, and the house was tidy when we returned. The following day, she agreed to return to the house to let out my brother's dog and play with and feed her as well. She was so responsive and helpful and we would recommend her highly.
