I have worked with children in a variety of roles for over 20 years. I've been a nanny, babysitter, Pre-School teacher, Sunday school teacher, camp counselor, teaching assistant, elementary school counselor, and private tutor. My favorite job was the 6 years I worked as a full-time, live-in nanny for 2 young girls. I acted as their primary caregiver, as their parents were usually traveling or living out of the area. I was responsible for every aspect of raising them: I cooked and prepared their meals, drove their carpool, coached their sports teams, drove them all over creation, attended parent/teacher conferences and all school meetings/functions, did their laundry, helped with homework and projects, travelled often with them both domestically and internationally, and supported and encouraged them through the emotionally charged ups and downs of adolescent years. I was also responsible for running the busy household: shopping, organizing schedules, setting up maintenance Read more and services, constant pet care, arranging travel plans and reservations, and I was the mother's personal assistant, which included any and all assistance with errands and various tasks. Since my job as a nanny, I have managed a busy restaurant and bar, where I am responsible for overseeing the employees and customer service, smooth running of all front-of-house operations, training new employees, nightly financial reports, fixing any problems, and endless multitasking. I also stay with 2 boys for a few nights when their mother travels for work once a month. I volunteer at a wildlife animal hospital, and I just started substitute teaching at a Pre-school. I love working with children (and animals!) and I consider it a privilege to watch them learn and grow, and help guide and teach them to navigate life.
