The family struggles of our current society, where both Mom and Dad have to leave home to provide for their families, are very tough and those struggles are compounded when Mom or Dad have to go it alone. I myself grew up in a home with my single mother who did her very best to carry the household for my brother and I all on her own. I often wonder how different her life could’ve been if she had a reliable sitter or nanny by her side through our formative years and it is this thought, among others, which makes me passionate about being a caregiver. I absolutely adore children and have cared for them at all stages from newborn to pre-teen, including children with special needs ranging from dietary restrictions to mental and physical disabilities. The bulk of my experience stems from more than 10 years caring for children Read more of friends and family but I also spent about three years intermittently caring for the children of unrelated families. I am BLS certified and also have an impeccable driving record. I am extremely patient, compassionate, and responsible and my main goal is to care for children as an extension of their amazing parents. I am currently studying to become a child psychologist with emphasis in working with troubled youth. My studies have included development courses that have shaped how I view the mindset of a growing child and the importance of the child-parent relationship. I believe that there are few things more fulfilling than the happiness of a developing child because the truth is that they really are our future and every person that touches their lives has a responsibility to push them toward the brightest one possible. As a caregiver, I aim to fulfill my responsibility as an aid to any family that may need me and to any child in my care.
