As a professional nanny I make a great sitter! Having years of professional child care experience makes both children and parents comfortable with my care giving; I bring all of my nanny skills with me when sitting. As a teacher and artist I am able to roll out the sensory, creative, craft and cooking/baking/science based activities; as a vocal enthusiast I love to sing with children, and to create silly dance parties to their favourite music/songs! I am CPR/1st aid certified, registered with Trustline and vetted through background checks, have excellent references, as well as having a current CA driving license, clean driving record, and insured car. I am fully vaccinated, and Covid cautious.

It was such a pleasure working with Lorne! She was absolutely reliable, letting us know if she needed to take time off with plenty of notice and generally worked with our schedule. She always arrived on time, and in the rare instances (once or twice in 6+ months) when traffic was bad, she'd let us know. She read through our contract carefully, and always took care to do the nanny chores we set out for her even if we didn't really check. She even wiped down the bathroom fixtures once a week without us asking! I trust Lorne 100% with our baby. She started with us when our LO was 5.5 months old, and quickly became a favorite. LO giggled and squealed with joy every morning when Lorne arrives! We worked from home and always heard Lorne singing and reading. She was even able to accommodate me coming up to nurse throughout the day, and it wasn't a problem at all. We had a check-in every morning about my meeting schedule, to time nursings with outside time and now solids. I'm the only mother in my family (including in my parents' generation) who's been able to breastfeed over a year, and I credit a lot of it to Lorne working with me to make it happen. What I truly appreciate about Lorne is her knowledge of child development. We'd chat about what sorts of new things LO has been doing, and she'd inform us about what to expect and what to look for. As first-time parents, we are very grateful for her knowledge and experience. She doesn't coddle LO, but patiently lets her explore and do some figuring things out on her own. That jived 100% with our approach raising her. It really felt like Lorne was part of our parenting team. She also diligently used our baby tracking app (Huckleberry) and checked in every day about LO's sleeping schedule. I had already sleep-trained LO by the time Lorne started with us, but she's helped navigate nap transitions very smoothly. Lorne was also very accommodating in our use of cloth diapers. I would absolutely recommend Lorne to other families. We moved to the East Bay and it would be too far to drive every morning for Lorne. But our baby has had a great start thanks to Lorne's care.
