Hello! My name is Harmony! I am a fourth-year sociology student at UCD Davis, currently living and working in Grand Lake Oakland at a Montessori Preschool. I love children and have plenty of experience working with various age groups, personalities, and, ethnicities. My mother was a preschool teacher so I grew up around little ones. I became a certified babysitter at the age of 15 completing a CPR course and basic child care training. I babysat weekly for a handful of different clients throughout high school. At 18 I moved to Shenzhen, China where I worked as a live in Au Pair for 6 months and was responsible for taking care of the family's year-old son. In 2021 I took a gap year because I was rewarded a scholarship to live and work in South Korea as an elementary English school teacher. In South Korea I worked at two small Read more rural schools with students aged 5 to 11 years of age. I feel confident in my ability to care for, entertain and keep your children safe. I've enjoyed working with children and learning from them and their interests, and perspectives on things. I love their curious minds and endless creativity. I encourage children to explore new interests and nurture their current ones. I believe in gentle parenting methods, helping guide children to work through big emotions, and think critically and compassionately. I am looking to make some extra money on the side. I have my own car so transportation is not an issue. In my free time, I like to read, do yoga, be out in nature or cozy up and watch Netflix docuseries.
