Hi, I’m Demitri! A bit about me: I’m an avid builder of Legos and lover of imaginative play. I’m super into art projects and just got a 3D printer that I use to design toys, just for fun. At the kids’ gym I volunteer at, most often I’m the guy who’s running away from an army of children armed with foam cubes and other throwable (soft, thankfully) projectiles. I know my way around nerf guns, gaming consoles, and used to stage games like capture the flag for the kids in my neighborhood in the small woods behind the house I grew up in. I’m about empathy and communication above all. I’m slowly studying to become a psychotherapist, due to a lifelong love of listening to and seeing people on a deep level. In my spare time I’m also a screenwriter, geared towards kids’ animation. Story-based play is something I’ve always Read more loved dearly. I’m a man. There’s a lot of toxicity steeped in masculinity, and a lot of (often justified) bias because of it. I hope to be a living example that masculinity doesn’t need to be toxic. Men can be silly. We can play. We can cry. It’s something that I feel is very important for people, kids and adults alike, to be exposed to. Money has never been a huge factor in why I babysit. Building real friendships, in which I can both teach and learn, and feeling connected to a family, that’s what I love about it. I only have one biological sibling, but the role of big brother is one that I feel comes naturally to me, and one that is always deeply fulfilling. If you’re a family who values kindness and silliness, I hope you’ll consider reaching out to me.
