I believe that my empathetic nature, high capacity to care for those around me, and passion for young children makes me the perfect candidate to be a babysitter. While my job experience in the field is limited, I have had many opportunities to interact with young children. As a middle school tutor for 3 years, I was able to hone my motivational skills, practice patience, and develop a positive and safe learning environment. I worked with many of my students through the entire duration of my 3 years of experience until I went to go to college, which allowed me to not only improve their mathematical skills, but be a strong role model and mentor. Many of their parents could see this as well and had me babysit on various occasions. I also spent a week as a 24 hour camp cabin counselor in which I participated in many activities Read more with the 6th graders and looked after 14 of them in the cabin overnight by myself. Many of these young girls had never been away from home and found it extremely difficult to adjust. Many nights were spent talking them through it and rubbing their backs until they were able to calm down and fall asleep. This is really when I realized my passion for babysitting. I have learned just as much from my experiences with children as what they learned from me. I am CPR Certified hope to create a safe and comfortable environment for children, as well as continue growing as an individual.
