Hi, I’m Izzy! I’m a recent Stanford grad with a B.A. in English (emphasis Literature and Creative Writing.) I’ve been working with kids for seven years in a variety of roles: as a camp counselor, assistant teacher, tutor, babysitter, and coach. I grew up with an older brother with severe developmental and physical disabilities, so I've helped my parents care for him since childhood. I have extensive experience adapting to kids' individual needs and treating them with the utmost respect, tenderness, and care. I'm currently a Youth Club Coach at two Touchstone Climbing gyms, where I teach kids ages 8-13 the fundamentals of rock climbing. I have two years of experience working as a Hiking Leader/Climbing Instructor at Stanford Sierra Camp for Stanford alums and their families. I led kids on hikes and climbs, in yoga and creative writing sessions, and on watercraft. I've also tutored middle and high schoolers Read more in English, essay writing, public speaking, and standardized test prep, and I would be happy to help your kids with their homework. Additionally, I have two years of experience leading housekeeping teams of 10-12, so I’m happy to do whatever household cleaning or laundry you might require. I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and have received all other major vaccines. I have CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding certifications from the American Red Cross and a Safe Sport Coach certification from USA Climbing. I also have a clean driving record and no criminal history. In additional to childcare, I’m happy to contribute my skills at writing, marketing, and design to your personal and business projects – I’d love to talk about how I can best support your family’s needs. I’m excited to get to know you and your kids better. I've learned so much about parenting from working with families in the past, and I've become humbler, more patient, and a better communicator because of it. Plus, I’m always impressed by kids’ imagination and pure joy at being alive — it’s the best part of my job!
