I’ve had a variety of jobs but nothing has “paid” more than working with children. Not only does every day bring something new, but the gratitude that comes with being able to teach a child anything, from a new life skill to learning how to write their name is totally gratifying. I would say it started when I was a child, being teacher’s pet or playing school with my younger sister. Once I got my feet wet working at the school district as a special education instructional assistant, I shifted my focus on school. Every day I continue to try and learn how to improve from my higher ups or peers. I’m currently working with preschoolers but I’ve worked with all ages up to 24/25 years old.
