I am a single mom who has been watching kids my whole life. I grew up with 4 siblings, 3 of them 5-10 years younger than me, so I've been babysitting and a nanny since about 12. Throughout high school, I nannied 2 young girls who each had their own intense separation anxieties, I am very comfortable with kids who might need a bit more emotional support. I have also watched a boy between the ages of 3 and 4, and it worked very well, especially with my son present with him. I am a huge fan of outings, going to the parks, splash pads, farmers markets, libraries, and children's museums. I love reading to children, creating crafts, and playing outside. Hiring a sitter or nanny who has their own child might be a change for some. Still, the ability to create a social environment and the ability to have Read more similar age interactions if your child isn't in school or has limited exposure to other young kids is a pro!
