Hi! I am a first year graduate student in UC Santa Barbara's School Psychology M.Ed. program. I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2019 with my B.A. in Psychological Science. After graduation I worked in the public and private school systems as a special education teaching assistant. I have worked with students between the ages of 4 - 22 with a wide range of clinical diagnoses and disabilities. I am extremely comfortable caring for children with special needs and helping with homework, projects, and studying. I use a "gentle parenting" approach in my work. I believe relationship and rapport building is paramount to gaining trust and respect from any child I work with (I do not believe children "owe" me respect, I believe I should earn it via my words and actions!) I employ positive behavior supports, gentle redirecting, choices, natural consequences, and social pragmatic learning. I have a Read more lot of patience with children and seek to understand them, and have them understand me, when dealing with unwanted and/or negative behaviors. I love arts & crafts, cooking & baking, swimming, dancing, hiking, and reading. I own a car (honda civic) and have a clean driving record and CA drivers license. I also love pets and am willing to take care of those as well! I want to be honest and let you know that I do not have any paid babysitting/nannying experience. However, I do have younger family members I have taken care of and babysat (ages 3 - 11) in addition to my work in the school systems. I love working with kids and wouldn't be pursuing a career as a school psychologist if I didn't! My class schedule is below. I am available at all other times, but I am not available for overnights: Mondays: 9 - 11:50am Thursdays: 9 - 11:50am, 4:00 - 6:50pm I look forward to connecting with you!
