My name is Maggie Doxilly and I’m 34 years old. I really enjoy interacting with children and making connections whether it be having fun or helping them through a tough time. My experience comes from an elementary school setting, babysitting, and nannying. I have 2 years’ experience working as Nanny/Babysitter, 5 years' experience working with children in a school setting. I am Infant/Child/Adult _CPR and First Aid Certified. I graduated from UCSB and majored in Sociology with a minor in applied Psychology and an emphasis in child development. I found my love for working with children when I volunteered at an Elementary school during my undergrad. I would go to Isla Vista Elementary school and play with children during recess and use problem solving skills with children when they ran into issues on the playground. During my senior year of college, I stated working for the Goleta Union School District Read more where I eventually became a Lead for an afterschool program and Lead playground supervisor and worked as a Paraeducator. My responsibilities were to train staff on how to supervise children in a large setting, set up weekly/monthly meetings for updates on the playground and learning opportunities, I would coordinate groups based on age to have a covid-friendly, safe, environment. Furthermore, I would set up age-appropriate activities, make an enrichment schedule for all groups and connect with parents on a daily basis. I really enjoy making arts and crafts, reading and making up my own silly stories, imaginary play, setting up sensory activities, being active, doing yoga, and unwinding with some mindfulness music. I understand the important role a caregiver has on children, and I would always go above and beyond to make sure the children I work with are safe, respected, followed by great communication between children, parents, and myself. Lastly, I am a very reliable, nurturing, and flexible individual that’s looking forward to making a great connection while working with your child!
