As a certified Suzuki teacher and psychology lover, children are my favorite thing on earth! I love watching them make discoveries, helping them navigate tough emotions in a safe space, chatting or playing silly games, and giving a child another safe human to depend on. I'm a clear communicator, readily accept any feedback, detail oriented, responsible, conscientious, easy to get a hold of, and have a flexible schedule as a musician/performer. I can't wait to meet you and your child(ren) - and any pets!! I am 28 years old, mature and responsible, responsive and flexible. I hold a masters degree. Non smoker. I am extremely detail oriented and have a good memory, and a good instinct for how to handle challenging situations should they ever arise. I am fully vaccinated and plan on getting the booster soon. I work with children all the time. I grew up with 3 younger Read more brothers who I took care of often, and I have been teaching Suzuki (violin) lessons to children since I was about 12, certified in 2019. Psychology is one of my greatest passions, and I always strive to create an emotionally safe space for children, as well as a physically safe space. I am LGBT friendly as well. I believe in natural consequences of actions (given safety is maintained), one on one discussions, and positive reinforcement. Never corporal punishment. Negative reinforcement has been disproven by extensive studies, so I don't use it. I also specialize in working with neurodivergent or disabled children. I am against ABA and am neurodivergent myself. I can transport kids, track dietary restrictions, basic cooking, light housework/cleaning, help with homework (especially English, music, or basic math), and watch up to 3 or 4 kiddos at a time (depending on location and ages). I am comfortable with all ages from infants to teens, and also love to pet sit/do basic pet care. I can come to you, and I am often available at the last minute. As a bonus, I often bring a little activity or book with my to entertain the kiddos. I have tons of varied interests, from arts and crafts, music and dance, mushrooms and plants, movies and tv, to board games and screen-free games. Kids love me, and I love kids. You won't be sorry if you hire me 🙂
