I recently graduated with a degree in Child and Family Studies. Throughout out my college education, I learned and mastered the many developmental stages from birth leading up to 18 years of age. I decided I wanted to work with children when I realized how much I enjoyed their presence. Due to my compassionate nature, I decided to pursue higher education in the same field. I hope to someday work closely with children and their families in a school, clinical or hospital setting. I recently completed a 1,200 hour internship at a local children’s hospital, where I was under the supervision of a Child Life Specialist. Together, we made sure to provide quality care to children who were hospitalized due to traumatic events and chronic illnesses. My time at the hospital was a rewarding learning experience. It showed me the importance of play and how it is essential to a Read more child’s development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of the child. I believe that a position like this is suitable for a college student like myself because I understand that choosing quality care is a parents' number one priority. Parents should seek child care that stimulates and encourages a child’s physical, intellectual, and social growth. I feel that I can apply what I have learned in college and what I have taken away from my internship, to a position like this because I know I am able to meet a child's psycho-social demands, through activities that are age appropriate for your child and/or children. I would describe myself as a warm, caring, and dependable individual who is punctual, and responsive. * Side note: I have a current driver’s license with a clean driving record. I have no pet allergies. I am willing to prepare your child’s meals, as well as light house cleaning (if necessary). And, I also have a Disney pass.
