When I was younger, I'd babysit a few of my five nieces and nephews every summer. The youngest child I have babysat was three months old and the oldest was fourteen. As I got older, I realized how much I love working with kids so I applied to the Parks and Rec department for the city of American Canyon. I am now a recreation leader where I work with kids of ages 4-16. I also help out with community events where I am able to work with adults or lead games for children. One of the main events I do, is help with the summer camp where I am responsible for anywhere from 10-30 kindergarteners/first graders. Although they are my main group, I am still responsible for ensuring the safety of the rest of the kids at the camp as well. In my future, I want to own my own Read more preschool. As a senior in high school, I took a class at the college about Child Development. I also interned at a preschool in Napa which made me realize that I wanted my career to involve young children and what better way to do that than owning a preschool? I am CPR, First Aid, and epi-pen trained. As a city employee, we went through the procedures for allergies and asthma attacks as well as many other important trainings for our summer camp, so I am fully aware of how to handle tough situations.
