I have worked as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) for almost a year, and, in that time, I have primarily worked in geriatrics, whether it be in-home care or in a facility. I did, however, volunteer for a semester at Compassion House, a facility in Springdale, AR, that houses pregnant teenagers and their babies. My responsibilities there included helping the mothers get their babies ready in the mornings as well as taking care of the babies who were too young for daycare. I briefly volunteered at Willow Creek Women's Clinic as a baby cuddler for babies in the NICU. I am a full-time student at the University of Arkansas. I am a senior in psychology with minors in social work, sociology, gender studies, and biology. I am also pre-nursing and plan to start the nursing program in January. I have a current Basic Life Support certification as well as certification Read more as a nursing assistant. I have taken a personal care assistant course through NWACC, and I was a lifeguard for two years in high school. I am dependable, well-organized, and have reliable transportation. Aside from work and volunteer experiences, I often babysit (for free) my younger cousins and nephew, ages 4-7. I am comfortable under pressure, and am willing to drive children to and from any activity or school event. I am also willing to help with housework, cooking, and children's homework.
