I have been a nanny and a babysitter for over 10 years, starting in Washington D.C. for military families. I recently moved to Colorado this year and am reprising my role as a care giver because I believe that it is very important for parents to be husband and wife and for children to have time away from mom and dad too. I believe in keeping in keeping your child's routines even while you are gone for the evening, so you can be assured that consistency will be kept.

Kelly watched our 21 month-old daughter Oona for a few hours while we had a stay-at-home date night, playing pool in our basement. Our daughter is very much in the stranger-danger phase and typically becomes hysterical if anyone other than mom and dad are in the house. We've only left her with a sitter twice before, and a couple of times with her grandparents-- with each occasion beginning with a screaming, clinging fit that lasted for at least the first 45 minutes. After Kelly arrived, we snuck downstairs and waited with baited breath for the crying to begin, for our daughter to realize that we were not around and that a stranger had taken our place! However, there was never a sound, not even a peep. When the evening was over, we came upstairs to find Oona and Kelly playing together quietly in her play area. Our daughter was not crying, she was smiling, and she did not run to us or immediately reach for us when we appeared. Words can scarcely describe the excitement and disbelief that we felt, along with immense gratitude. Kelly did what we felt could not be done with ease and confidence, making Oona feel comfortable and engaging with her in a very loving and constructive manner. We are extremely thrilled to have found Kelly and are looking forward to many future visits!!

We have had Kelly over several times to babysit our 4 year old and 11 month old. She is punctual, reliable, easy/quick to reach by phone/text, kind, and detail-oriented. My daughter loves having her over, and she is able to juggle both kids easily. Every time I come home, she gives me a detailed report of the day, which I really appreciate. She always asks if there's anything else she can do for us before she leaves, and she has jumped in as our back-up sitter in a pinch as well. When we met, she emphasized that she stays with families for a long time, which is exactly what we were looking for; someone who could get to know our kids well and enjoy being with them over the long-term. I would highly recommend Kelly as a sitter!
