I feel as though kids are often misunderstood by adults. It takes someone who is still in touch with their inner child to connect and communicate with these souls. I believe I have that quality. My experience with kids isn't traditional babysitting, but teaching after-school colorguard and chess. Because of this experience, I have gained a tremendous amount of patience and learned exactly how to interact positively with children. I've seen some at their worst--frustration, sadness, you name it (colorguard is a performance skill, if you are not familiar). However, I always find the best approach to make them feel understood. Because I have taught large classes of children, I have the patience for about 25 school aged kids, so babysitting isn't an issue for me. :) I currently work a full time role, so my availability isn't until 5pm on most weekdays. I do, however, have opportunities where I Read more can be flexible and get off earlier from time to time. I visit family in Georgia occasionally (about once every 1-2 months) and am gone for the weekend from Friday-Sunday in those cases.
