We are looking for an aide/paraprofessional/counselor to accompany our 8-year-old son to day camp. Our son is a bright, creative, funny, energetic 8-year-old boy who has severe ADHD. He is in a mainstream classroom and is tremendously successful in that environment, working with an aide/paraprofessional.
We are looking for someone to play a similar role to our son's school year aide, but at camp. Our son is attending a local day camp that is classroom-based and specialty themed. The role is not to provide any camp activities but, instead, to be a resource if our son needs extra help, or needs a break from the group, etc. Preference for someone with a background in education or special education, or who is studying education.
Camp is in Short Hills, NJ and schedule is Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 3 PM, June 24 - August 9, with days off on July 4 and 5. Pay is on the books.
